Vater Machinery Pty Ltd was established in 2016, by brothers, Roger and Rick Vater, who purchased an existing New Holland Dealership situated in Tanunda, within the Barossa Valley, South Australia. In 2019, the brothers acquired the Machinery Division of AW Vater & Co, founded by their parents in 1956, located at Saddleworth. It included a branch at Kadina, which was acquired in 2013. A new Dealership was built at Nuriootpa, and the Barossa business relocated to accommodate growing demand, also in that year. All three outlets, Saddleworth, Kadina and Nuriootpa have been amalgamated to form a formidable and respected business with influence throughout South Australia.
The partnership with New Holland was forged in June 1960 and we are one of their longest serving Dealers in Australia. New Holland is our major franchise across all branches and provides a diverse range of products, including, Tractors, Combines, Hay Equipment, Handling Equipment and more.
To round out the Dealerships, we offer products and services from the following quality franchises; JCB, MacDon, Flexicoil, Horsch, Croplands, Rogator, Braud, Arcusin, Polaris, Stihl, Sonic, Gason, Grizzly, Atlas Copco, Challenge and more. (Not all are offered at each branch). Finance is offered as a service to approved applicants.

The Schrapel Family Trust are fourth generations farmers at Ebenezer in the Barossa Valley. They grow cereal crops and have an established vineyard of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Merlot, Grenache, Semillon and Riesling grapes .
